Khrushchev’s dismissal from office
support for Khrushchev’s leadership was significantly eroded by domestic policy failures/mishandling of the Cuban Missile Crisis.
Such developments emboldened his political rivals who quietly rose in strength and ultimately deposed him in October 1964.
