What are keystone species?
A
Species which help to hold the ecosystem together, controlling diominant species, reducing predation risk and acting as ecosystem engineers.

A
He removed pisaster starfish in rockpools and found that species reduced from 15 to 8 as mussels took over the habitat.

A
Prairie dogs, otters and elephants, hummingbirds
