Deontological.
The action matters more than the outcome.
Absolutist.
The same actions and morality should remain consistent between people and situations.
Duty.
What you are morally obliged to do.
Good will.
Doing something without expectation of reward.
Hypothetical imperative.
Doing something to achieve a goal with no moral obligation eg going to school to become a doctor.
Categorical imperative.
What is reasonable to do- no goal but good will. Moral obligation and duty.
Maxim.
A statement that helps moral decision-making.
Autonomy.
People are free to do whatever they want- there are no limitations on good will.
Summum bonum.
The ultimate happiness that will be achieved in the afterlife.
Enlightenment period.
Based on scientific discovery:
-Liberation from religious structures.
-Reason is the key to all knowledge (a priori.)
-Morality does not come from God, but justice and fairness.
Duty for duty’s sake.
Doing something because it is right, not for any gain.
