connotation = deeper layers of meaning

to okay a production so filming can begin
director vs producer
director = creative vision, appointed by producer and directs rest of staff what to do in order to achieve said vision
producer = in charge of the money and budget, approves directors requests such as scene building.
production
actual period of shooting - usually 6-10weeks because shooting is very expensive (most scenes are shot out of sequence)
Post-production
the work that is required to complete the film after shooting, including the edit , sound mix, music composition, colour grading and CGI special effects.
