What is history
History is the study of the past
A source?
Sources are something that give us information about a person place or thing
Prehistory?
Prehistory is the period of time before writing was used

Archaeology is the study of remains left by people in the past.

Historical consciousness
Being able to place ourselves in past human experiences, linking the past, present and future.
A historian?
Someone who is highly or an expert in history.
An archaeologist?
Someone who investigates places and objects in the past including the prehistory time.
Cross checking?
Checking a source (website,book etc) more than one time to make sure it’s true.
A historical repository?
A place where evidence of the past can be stored and maintained
An archive?
A place where sources/written sources are stored and collected.
A museum?
A place they collects artefacts/objects for public appreciation and eduction.
A primary source?
A source from that time in question; a first hand account of what happened, EG (artefacts, newspapers, diaries etc)
Secondary source?
A source from a later time in question after the date that it happened in. EG (websites, biographies, podcasts etc)
An artefact?
Any human made object, EG (pottery, tool, weapon etc)
