Who would use the design? Who is the design aimed to target? Is it male or female, young or old? Is it supposed to be appeal to specific crowds, arty, sporty? Why is it supposed to?
Visual impact
What grabs your attention the most about the design?
Why does it do this?
Which parts stands out?
Style
Is it modern/old fashioned?
Why?
Is it a style that you have seen before?
What style is it?
Influences and sources of inspiration
What/Who has influenced this design?
How?
Can you see a theme in the design, nature, machines, architecture?
Imagery
What images have been used by the designer?
How do they make you feel?
Do they suggest any hidden meanings or emotions?
Do they have a theme or topic?
Decoration
Describe any decoration on the design. Is it a pattern? What sort of pattern? How has it been created? Was it stitched, glued, painted, cut out?

This is mainly for 2D/Graphic Designs.
How has the designer arranged the design?
Is it a busy layout?
Is it well organised?
Where is the lettering compared to images?
Lettering
Has the designer used different styles, size, shape lettering? Is it bigger in some places? Why? Does it have impact? Is it good at giving information?
Colour
Are they primary or secondary colours?
Hot or cold colours?
Realistic or unrealistic?
Wide range or limited range of colours?
Pattern
Is the pattern repeated or random?
Describe the different types of patterns you see.
Are there many patterns or limited?
Shape/Form
What sorts of shapes has the designer used?
Are they 2D or 3D?

Aesthetics
Is the design good or bad to look at?
What makes you think this?
Consider the colour, shape, style pattern, form, materials, decoration.
Construction
How has the design been constructed?
Does it have a strong frame and supports?
Is it sturdy or fragile?
Is the structure effective and strong enough for the design?
Does it cause any possible problems?
Ergonomics
How comfortable is the design for a human to use?
Has it been made with the human figure in mind?
Describe any positive or negative aspects relating to comfort for the person using the design?
Location
This could relate to architecture.
Has the designer chosen a suitable location that suits the purpose of the building?
Explain any positive or negative aspects.
Manufacturing Process
Which process has been used to make the design?
Is it mass produced, handmade a one off design?
Was it created in mould, by machine, or hand carved?
Is the manufacturing process expensive or cost effective?
Scale
How big is the design compared to a person or building?
Is it too big or too small? Why?
How does the size affect the design?
Technology
How has the design been made? Which technologies have been used? Computers, Machines? Was this an effective way to create the design? Was it more suitable than other methods?
Use of Space
This could be really relating to architecture or a poster.
Has the designer chosen a good location?
Is there enough space for everything?
Could the space be utilised more effectively?
Wearability
This could relate to fashion and jewellery.
How comfortable would the design be to wear?
Why? Is it negative or positive?
Is it practical?
Could it hurt the wearer?
Is it too heavy or fragile?
