Catholics against divorce. But if they don’t enter marriage for the right reason or forced them can get permission from the pope to say their wedding did not take place
Celibacy
Someone is celibate when they do not have sexual relations with the person they love
Church
Building in which Christians worship or the people or the leaders of the faith who help moral problems and interprets the bible
Civil partnerships
Same sex couple have a legal ceremony to ensure they have equal rights in law, it is not religious
Contraception
People try to not have babies when having sex, this can be natural or artificial
Fornication
This refers to sexual act carried out by a couple who are not married to each other
Homosexuality
Same sex couples having sexual attractions to each other
Marriage
Couples are joined together legally in a special service and in the eyes of God
Re-marriage
A divorced person will have another ceremony to marry another partner or sometimes they get married to the same partner
Roles
Jobs or responsibilities which someone has to do. Eg men could have to go out and work and women to do housework
Sacrament
Catholics believe marriage service to be a sacrament which means an outward sign of an inner grace. God is present and is witness to the vows so they can’t be broken
Marriage ceremony
This is the name of the service which joins the couple in marriage
Vows
Special promises which a couple makes in the wedding service in front of God and witnesses
Adultery
This is where someone has sex with someone that they are not married to
