Legitimacy
The acceptance by the people and the international community that the government is an actual government
Civil society
The citizens have basic rights in the society and they do not feel threatened by the government if they use their voice against the government
Political culture
Set of attitudes, beliefs, and feelings that give order and meaning to a political process and which provide the underlying assumptions and rule that govern the behavior in the government
Night watchmen states
A minimal state, a state that functions with powers limited to only rules that can uphold the law in that state.
Consensual party systems
A stable party system of parties that trust each other and are not that far apart on the political spectrum.
Conflictual party system
A party system where the parties do not trust each other and they are very far apart on the political spectrum. Often seen as unstable
Consociational party system
Stable party system but the parties are far apart on the political spectrum and are willing to compromise
Coercion
Trying to forcefully gain power and influence . Often occurs in authoritarian governments by the leader in charge
