Copying others by following socially accepted standards
Majority Influence
When a person changes their attitudes, beliefs or actions to fit in with a larger group
Minority Influence
A form of social influence where people reject the norm of the majority and move to the position of the minority
Compliance
Changing your behaviour to fit in with a group (whilst having a challenging opinion)
Identification
Conforming to the expectations within their role (without a challenging opinion)
Internalisation
Changing your behaviour to fit in with a group (without a challenging opinion)
Normative Conformity
Yielding to a group pressure because you want to fit in! (Fear of rejection)
Informational Conformity
Looking to a group for guidance, if the situation is unclear (ambiguous)
Ingratiational Conformity
Conforming to gain a favour or acceptance/gratitude from others (SOCIAL REWARD)
Agentic Shift
Seeing yourself as an ‘agent’ (assistant) for somebody else.
Role of buffer
If there is a barrier between you and the outcome of the order
Legitimate authority
Somebody having a right to tell you what to do
Gradual conformity
Agreeing to a small task that gradually increases.

Emphasising the differences between men and women
Beta Bias
Minimising the differences between men and women

The process of viewing the world from a female-centred point of view
