Adalat
A very important festival in Shi’a Islam in which shi’a Muslims commemorate martyrdom of Hussein (Muhammads grandson)
Ashura
The day Allah will decide about individuals deeds, good and bad, and on reward and punishment
Day of Judgement
No eating or drinking. it refers to especially sawm, which is the 4th of the 5 pillars. During the month of Ramadan Muslims don’t eat from sunrise to sunset. This helps Muslims devote themselves to their faith and come closer to Allah.
Fasting
The five roots of Usul ad-Din. The foundation of the faith in shi’a islam.
Tawhid (Oneness of Allah) , Adalat (Justice) , Prophethood (nubuwwah) , immate (leadership)
The five pillars - supports the development of a good character
Shahadah (showing deceleration of faith to Allah), Salah (praying) , Zakat (social responsibility - charity) , sawm (fasting - self controll) , Hajj (pilgrimage to Makkah)
The duty every muslim has to do to achieve a good muslim life the fight against inner greed selfishness and ego - known as the more difficult fight.
greater jihad
An annual pilgrimage every Muslim has to do at least once in their life unless prevented by wealth or health issues known as the fifth pillar
Hajj
The belief that everyone should take responsibility for their actions - they will be questioned on the day of judgement
Human accountability
Humans have free will over their thoughts feelings and actions
Human freedom
A prophet of Allah. He rebuilt in ka’aba
