Nine Black students were escorted by federal troops into Little Rock to enforce desegregation in the force of violent opposition
Montgomery Bus Boycott (1955-56)
Sparked by Rosa Parks arrest, black residents boycotted city busses for over a year, leading to the desegregation of public transportation
Birmingham Campaign (1963)
Organised protests in Birmingham, Alabama, were met with brutal police tactics (fire hoses, police dogs), the National outrage pushed for civil rights

Over 250,00 people gathered in Washington D.C. , where Martin Luther King Jr, Delivered his famous “I have a dream” speech, advocating for racial equality and justice
