Definition of close-up shot
This shot type is often used to draw close attention to a particular subject within the frame eg: filling the frame with a person’s face to convey emotions
Definition of establishing shot
This shot type is often used to show where a scene is taking place eg: a shot of NYC before entering a scene within someones apartment
Definition of low angle shot
This shot type is used to make the subject look powerful, strong or tall, achieved by shooting from below the subject looking upwards
Definition of high angle shot
This shot type is used to make the subject look weak, small or powerless, achieved by shooting from above the subject looking down
Definition of tracking shot
This shot type involves the camera moving along rails , following the subject - often used during travel or a longer view of a setting
Definition of enigma
A central question or mystery used to drive the narrative forward
Definition of diegetic sound
The type of sound involves anything that the onscreen characters can hear, eg: environmental sounds like kettles boiling, slamming a door
Definition of non-diegetic sound
This sound involves things which characters on screen cannot hear and have likely been added in at post-production. Including voiceovers and musical soundtracks
Definition of mis-en-scene
The overall composition of a scene and includes things such as lighting, costume, props, actors etc
Definition of high key lighting
This type of lighting constructs a fairly natural, everyday form of lighting, free from dark shadows, often used within sitcoms and comedies
Definition of low key lighting
This type of lighting highlights the contours on objects, creating dark shadows on screen. This type of lighting is often used within horror films or film noir

When a conglomerate/ larger company buys up the different stages of production in order to gain all profit along the line eg: Disney has its own construction companies to build sets
