Q

What is the difference between the Primary and Mature Transcript of RNA?

A

Q

What is the first stage in Transcription?

A

RNA Polymerase Enzyme moves to the specific section of DNA and unwinds the DNA Double Helix from that point by breaking Hydrogen bonds between bases.

Q

What is the second/third stage in Transcription?

A

RNA Nucleotides pair with complementary DNA base pairs (A-U, G-C) forming mRNA.

RNA Polymerase can only add DNA Nucleotides to the 3’ end of mRNA.

Q

What is the fourth/fifth (Last stages) in Transcription?

A

RNA Polymerase joins the Nucleotides together to form a new Sugar-Phosphate Backbone.

The mRNA becomes separated from the DNA Template and is called the Primary Transcript Of mRNA.
