What did Kennedy do during his visit ?
A
- Visited several of its major cities and made many speeches
- At West Berlin he embarked on a thirty mile tour of the main streets where 1.5 million people came to see him
- He spoke to a crowd of 200,000 people in the city centre, near the wall and famously said ‘ich bin ein Berliner’
- this means I am a Berliner which shows his support to Western Germany, however he said it slightly wrong
