General rules of chelonians
They need:
* Warm temperatures
* Little humidity mostly (tortoises)
* Spot-on lamp and UVB lamp
* Vitamins: Ca + multivitamin
* Tortoises need to be able to soak.
Land based tortoises are herbivores.
Water turtles may be omnivorous or carnivorous.
Should be kept alone.
Describe Russian tortoises.
- Mostly lifespan more than 40 years
- Size: 13-25 cm
- Active: diurnal
Terrarium should be big
* Minimum 0,6m x1,2m
* Hiding places, stones, water dish
- Lightning: Spot-on + UVB lamp
- Temperature: 16-37 °C
- Humidity: 20-50%
- Feeding: herbivores
Describe red/yellow eared sliders.
- Expected lifespan 20- 40 years
- Size: 13-35 cm
- Active: diurnal
Aquarium should be as big as possible
* Depth of the water- at least 2 shell lengths
* Need dry land too.
