Yes in the execution of your duty. Exceed temp speed limit ONLY when checked the way is clear of hazards.
Do Police officers have a defence to exceed speed limits?
Yes, U.D. and Pursuit
While responding to a critical incident you proceed through an intersection against a red traffic. What are your obligations?
Driver MUST reduce speed as not to exceed 20km/h with siren sounding and red and blue lights flashing taking due care to avoid collision with traffic and pedestrians
When overtaking, is there an exception for Police drivers on U.D or pursuit to drive to the right of solid yellow no passing lines?
Yes in the execution of your duty. It is high risk and should wait until after no passing lines. Carry out on slow/stationary traffic and if the way is clear
Before using a Police car do you have to carry out an inspection of it?
Yes
COMMS directs you to 1V at an intersection, unknown injuries and the road appears to be blocked. Unroute you activate a speed camera. What do you need to PROVE to have the notice waived?
That compliance with the speed limits, traffic signals, stop or give way signs would be likely to prevent or hinder the execution of that duty.

The driver is; responding to a critical incident, apprehending a driver for a criminal offence, engaged in a pursuit
As a passenger of a 2 person patrol involved in an U.D response what are your responsibilities?
Advise the driver about the route, situational factors/risks and operate the radio
What is the overriding principle of the U.D driving policy?
NO DUTY IS SO URGENT THAT IT REQUIRES THE PUBLIC OR POLICE TO BE PLACED AT UNJUSTIFIED RISK
As the passenger of a 2 person patrol involved in a F.D what are your responsibilities?
Advise the driver about the route, situational factors/risks or other considerations and operate the radio. PPDP holder or Senior rank may direct driver to abandon pursuit according to risk assessment.
