A

D’s actions may be justified if the action he takes were reasonable and done to
protect others from personal injury or to protect property

● generic term for a defense to an intentional tort in circumstances where it would be unfair
to hold D liable, but facts do not meet the requirement of traditional CL privileges or
statutory privileges
