- Tsbde creates State Board rules based on law.

- RDA course must be approved by State Board.
- Standard for renewals and continued education.
- Authorizes newly hired dental assistance to take x-rays for up to 12 months after the higher date during job training.

- RDA must complete 6 CE credits a year covering dental assistant duties.at least 3 must be clinical ce.

What are the two clinical tasks RDAs can do under general supervision?
- X-rays in compliance with occupations code 265.005 and
- minor emergency treatment to existing patient of the treating dentist in accordance to occupation code 265.003. A follow -up appointment must be scheduled within 30 days.
How can an RDA under direct supervision do nitrous oxide monitoring?
RDA is certified through TSBDE 8 hr program with bls certification and is directly monitored under trained Dentist. Can only turn the oxide down or off completely.
