God made a covenant (solemn promise) with Abraham in which he promised to protect and bless Abraham and his followers, who are his special, chosen people.

What is the ark?
The Ark, also called the Ark of the Covenant is a sacred chest that holds the Torah scrolls in a synagogue.

What does it mean by God as Shekhinah?
God as Shekhinah is the belief that God can focus his presence in a certain place, on earth. The temple in Canaan showed this jews came to believe that the Shekhinah was focused in the Temple. Unfortunately the temple was destroyed. Some believe this made God “homeless”.
