Explain Multinational doctrine
Agreed upon principles that guide the employment of forces from two or more nations towards a commo goal, ratified doctrine.

Fundamental principles that guide the employment of US forces toward a common OBJ, may include terms and TTPs, published by CJCS
Explain Multi-Service Doctrine
Guides the employment of two or more branches towards a common OBJ.
Explain Service Doctrine
For single service, prepared by CoS and oversees conduct of operations
Interpret Unified Actions
Synchronization and alignment of US gov and non gov agencies to achieve unity of effort
What is Unity of Effort?
Multiple units/ agencies working together without necessarily being a part of the same command
What is Unity of Command?
When multiple agencies/units operate under a single commander with the authority to direct and employ them
What are the four command relationships?
1) OPCON
2) TACON
3) COCOM
4) Support
What are the four types of support?
1) Mutual
2) General
3) Direct
4) Close
Define OPCON
Authority to Organize and employ commands and forces, designate objectives, and give direction to accomplish the mission. Can and should be delegated.
Define TACON
Can direct only in relation to movement and maneuver, cannot change function or role of unit.
Define COCOM
Overall command by CMDRS, cannot be delegated and provides FULL authority organize, employ, assign and direct
Define Support
Higher commander tells one unit to support another.
Define ADCON
Direction or authority in regards to admin and support
Define DIRLAUTH
Direct Liaison Authority - lets one unit talk to another directly outside of the chain of command
What are the two distinct branches of command?
Operational and Administrative
Define the Operational CoC
Goes through Unified Combatant Commanders to the functional service commands
Define Administrative CoC
Goes through Secretaries of Military Departments to the Service Chiefs and then to the Service Commanders
What is the CJCS to POTUS and SecDef?
Principal advisor
What are the 11 COCOMs?
STRATCOM, NORTHCOM, SOUTHCOM, EURCOM, AFRICOM, CENTCOM, SPACECOM, TRANSCOM, SOCOM, CYBERCOM, SPACECOM

1) SECDEF

How can a JTF be manned?
Assigned - Permanent
Attached - Temporary
