biomechanics (loading, structure, alignment, injury, body weight, immobilization) and inflammation/disease (systemic or local)
arthritis:
joint inflammation; mono/poly (amount of joints), inflammatory (psoriatic, rheumatoid) /non-inflammatory (OA, tumor)
tests for arthritis:
swelling, redness, heat, x-ray (osteophystes/hypo-mineralized bone), synovial fluid analysis (WBC), genetic test (rheumatoid factor, HLA-B27)
arthritis symptoms:
stiffness (persistency), pain, impaired function, fatigue, weakness, decreased ROM
pain: PQRST
provoke (triggers?)
quality (describe pain)
region/radiation (local or radiates)
severity (pain scale)
timing (when, sudden/gradual, consistency, length)
modified modified schober test:
lumbar spine ROM (ankylosing spondylitis), front hip flexion
knee to wall lunge test:
dorsiflexion ROM
stretches/exercises for OA:
standing cat-camel - knee OA
downward dog: shoulder mobility, thoracic ext., DF
basic ADLs:
walking, feeding, dressing, bathing
instrumental ADLs:
finances, transport, shopping, communication
