Preventive maintenance
Act or work of keeping something in proper condition by performing necessary preventive actions in a routine manner to prevent failure or break down
Operational test
A test to determine the operational readiness of a component on a fire apparatus by observing the actual operation of the component
What are the ten routine tests and inspections servicing functions components
Batteries Breaking Coolant Electrical Fuel Oil Tires Steering Belts Tools equipment and appliances
What kind of auxiliary breaking system does E-2 use?
Compression breaking (engine break)
The compression break or jake break is an electrically actuated mechanical system added to the engine valve train. When activated the compression break alters the operation of the engines exhaust valves so that the engine works as a power absorbing air compressor
What are the 10 electrical warning lamps that tell you fluid levels, pressures or temperature are out side of the normal operating range?
Engine oil pressure Engine water temp Transmission oil Engine air intake restriction Coolant level Voltage Rear break pressure Front break pressure Fuel level
Pump over heat indicator lights
Yellow at 120degrees
Red at 140 degrees
