One reason for why there were difficulties between John Balliol and Edward I is because of King John’s inauguration as becoming king of Scots in the 30th November 1292 at scone which was attended by the English Officials. This was an important reason as King Edward had no intentions of allowing Scotland or King John to rule free from the English influence.
