He believes that the message of the Bible is grounded in a 1st century wordlview e.g. that of a three-tiered universe and that for a modern reader, whose many beliefs and prior knowledge conflict with that expressed in the Bible, and that for this to be resolved the overall message of salvation musst be seperated from various mythological aspects
