Jesus meets with Zacchaeus

A

As Jesus walks through Jericho, a wealthy tax collector by the name of Zacchaeus awaits his arrival atop a great sycamore tree. Zacchaeus was small in stature, so he needed to elevate himself in order to see Jesus past the overwhelming crowd of people. Jesus notices Zacchaeus, and asks to be welcomed into his home. The crowd is displeased by the sudden turn of events, pondering why Jesus would want to go to the tax collector’s home. Zacchaeus is flooded with joy, and promises to give away half of his possessions, and pay back everyone he has defrauded 4 times as much as he owes.
