Feudalism
A social and economic system in which peasant farmers worked land for a landowner (daimyo), and by paying a price and giving their loyalty, they were protected by the owner’s samurai
Samurai
Loyal warriors who lived according to a demanding code of behavior called bushido
Bushido
The “way of the warrior” a samurai was expected to show reckless courage, reverence for the gods, fairness, and generosity toward those weaker than himself
