The “way of the warrior” in which a samurai was expected to show reckless courage, reverence for the gods, fairness, and generosity toward those weaker than himself.
Bushido
“Great lords,” that were responsible for maintaining peace and order.
Daimyo
Dramas, in which actors in elaborate costumes using music, dance, and mime, performed skits about urban life.
Kabuki
A type of poetry that does not express ideas but presents images.
Haiku
