An area which lacks uniqueness
What are the 2 perceptions of place?
insider - people feel they belong there
outsider- people feel out of place there
What is social exclusion?
being excluded from a community due to being a minority or due to poverty
What is spatial exclusion?
Areas being excluded from society due to a lack of investment
what are endogenous factors? give examples
factors which originate within an area.
e.g the topography of land, the ethnicity of an area, the soil type
what are exogenous factors? give examples
factors which originate externally, usually to do with people or relationships. e.g migrants, the flow of people, political relationships
define “perception of place”
an idea about an area developed through what people have seen, read or heard
define sense of place
meaning attributed to a place based off interactions with a place
what is an agent of change?
key individuals or groups which if they put forth an effort can help address issues within a community

the use of land/ how it is used
