Jack Morroco Flashcards
1
Q
Composition/Aarrangement
A
- Composition is busy as there are lots of objects on the canvas.
- The thing that catches your eye most is the guitar because it is the biggest object and is in the middle of the painting
2
Q
Media handling/techniques
A
- The media used is paint as you can see the brush strokes.
- He has painted roughly as you can see blotches of paint but has also been careful while painting because he’s stayed in the lines.
3
Q
Colour
A
- The colours used are a mix of primary and secondary colours.
- The colours are realistic because they match what they look like on the objects in real life.
4
Q
Line
A
- There outlines on the guitar and there are clean lines.
* There are straight lines aswell as curves.
5
Q
Tone
A
- Morocco has used tone on the objects and has made them look 3D by adding lights and darks.
- The most 3D looking objects are the pieces of melon because of the shading on them.
6
Q
Texture
A
- There is a bumpy texture because of the way Morocco has roughly applied the media.
- The texture might also feel rippled because of his brushstrokes.
12
Q
Shape and form
A
- Morroco uses a lot of circles/curves and squares in different form throughout the painting.
- He had used a mix of 3D and 2D object/surfaces but not a wide variety of shapes.
14
Q
Pattern
A
- There is not much pattern used in the painting but the pattern that is used is random.
- Morroco has used poka dots and stripes in the background but everything else is one colour for the objects and surfaces.
15
Q
Scale
A
- Measurements are realistic as the guitar looks to scale against the fruit.
- This releases a satisfaction when looking at the painting as it looks to scale.
16
Q
Style
A
- The painting is realistic because the objects looks how they would in real life.
- However in the background he has used a variety of different shapes and it looks abstract.
17
Q
Subject matter
A
- The theme of the painting is random objects such as fruit, flowers and a guitar.
- These are traditional objects in many paintings.
18
Q
Imagery
A
- The painting is confusing as the objects don’t fit together for their purpose but look like they are meant to be together.
- This is because they all use similar shapes and use the same vibrant orange tones.
19
Q
Mood and atmosphere
A
- The painting makes you feel happy and peaceful.
* It also makes you feel satisfied when you look at it because everything is what it would look like in real life.
20
Q
Visual impact
A
- The guitar grabs your attention the most as it is the largest object in the painting.
- The colours used also grab your attention because they are bright and vibrant.
