What is a computer system?
A computer is a device that stores and processes information according to a set of instructions.
What are hardware and software?
Hardware is the physical parts of the computer system the parts that you can touch and see.
Software is a collection of instructions that can be ‘run’ on a computer. These instructions tell the computer what to do.
The differences between hardware and software
The difference between hardware and software is technically something that you can either see and tough for example, your laptop keys. Software, on the other hand, is not physical and tells the hardware what to do in binary.
What is the central processing unit(CPU)
The CPU is the ‘brain’ of the computer. It is the device that carries out software instructions.
What are the main memory types
Ram: Temporary storage, Contains program being run, action being done, and application being used
ROM: permanent storage service, contains bios, and boot up program and permanent information
What are peripheral devices and the different categories of peripheral devices?
Input peripheral devices, Output peripheral devices, Storage peripheral devices
