He just had a battle with Harald Hadrada and his troupes were tired from their Journey, then were underequipped with barely any soldiers an they didnt have a battle strategy. They were just attacking randomly

He had lots of troops, was prepared and had a good strategy. His soldiers were well equipped and ready. They were also better trained and had more cavalry, and archers
