Abraham:
the forefather of all monotheist religions including Judaism. He lived 4000 years ago and was instructed by god to leave his country and go to a land that god would give him. Abraham filled these instructions with faith and whose descendants now make up approximately half the world’s population

Deir Yassin:
was an arab village located in the newly formed Israeli state where Palestinians refused to evacuate and would hand over their lands to the Israelis who were massacred. As an example of what would happen to other Palestinian towns who refused to comply. This led to continued bitterness and desire for revenge by the Palestinians
Explain the significance of the Belfort declaration
The Belfort declaration was issued by the British in 1917 and supported the establishment of Israel in Palestine so long as the religious rights of the Palestinian inhabitance were not violated
However, prior to the declaration, the British had promised the same land to the Palestinians in exchange for Palestine’s support in WW1. this declaration is the true origin of the Israeli arab conflict
Why did Israel’s war of independence lead to future conflict?
On May 14th, 1948 Israel proclaimed independence and immediately went to war with the surrounding Arab nations who were determined to reverse the U.N. majority patrician and expel all Jews from the land. Egypt, Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, and Iraq all joined in an uncoordinated attack that resulted in a bitter loss to the superior Israeli forces thus the Arab forces failed to prevent Israel from becoming an independent state. The Palestinians lost UN territory assigned to the in the partition. Isreal refused to negotiate new lands it had seized guaranteeing the future conflict.
In what ways did the 1967 war lead to conflict-
The 1967 6 days war was the result of steadily increasing tensions between Egypt’s nationalist leader Nasser and Israel. Nasser provoked Israel by forcing the UN to withdraw its troops from the Sinai peninsula and replacing them with his own, blocking the strait of Teron from Israel. Establishing the POL to fight Israel from within and forming a mutual defense pact with Syria and Jordan. In response, Israel launched a preemptive strike that devastated its Arab enemies and tripled the size of its own nation with land from its enemies. Its refusal to renegotiate land for peace guaranteed future conflict.
