Structural Isomers are when compounds share the same molecular formula but a different structural formula.

Geometric isomers requirements
A
- There must be a carbon-carbon double bond present to prevent free rotation in space. Only occurs with alkenes.
- Each carbon attached to the double bond must have two different groups bonded to it.
- There must be a common group on each side of the double bond
