Zakat/Zakah
A
Meaning:
The obligation of all Muslims with savings to donate 2.5% of their wealth each year to charitable causes.
Importance:
1. Purifies your remaining wealth, meaning Muslims don’t need to fear judgement day.
2. All wealth belongs to Allah, and was intended by Him to be distributed equally between people.

“Zakat is a right that the poor have upon the rich”

A
Meaning:
The 8th obligatory act. Shia Muslims give 20% of their wealth to charity.
