Muslims should mainly focus on god but they need purity and to be cleansed to do so

The first verse of the Quran was revealed to Muhammad in this night

Muslims try to keep themselves awake during the night to devote themselves to prayer
How is fasting beneficial?
Brings Muslims closer to allah, allah forgives all who fast, reminds people of the poor and builds humility/courage
What is zakah?
Giving 2.5% of their savings to the poor

Muslims acknowledge that everything belongs to allah

The certain amount a Muslim must have to give alms
What is sadaqah?
Giving their time and money voluntarily

Strengthens communities and fulfils a duty composed by god

They believe the water has life giving qualities
