What do Muslims do?
They centre their day around their faith and show their obedience to god through their actions.
What are the five pillars of Islam?
Shahadah - faith Salat - prayer Zakat - charity Sawm - fasting Haij - pilgrimage to Makkah
Why can the Shahadah be described as a mantra?
It’s the key phrase of the Islamic faith
How do Muslims pray
Performing a whole series of set movements and they clean before they pray and Muslims as young as 7 are encouraged to play
What is Zakah?
It should be 2.5% of a person’s wealth and if they are too poor they have to do good deeds
What is sawm?
It is fasting from just before dawn until sunset and abstinence from all food drinks and everyone except children under 12 and pregnant women
When does Sawm take place and why do they do it?
9th month of the Muslim year (Ramadan) and they do it to develop self control and overcome selfishness
What is Haji?
It is the pilgrimage to Makkah which every Muslim has to do once in their life and there is a mosque which has a Kabah in the middle of it
