A

The sunnah is the practice and example of the prophet Muhammad is the second source of inspiration and instruction for Muslims.

This is important to Muslims because it give them a source to turn to and shows how to put the practices of the Quran into everyday situations

A

The Hadith is a collection of reports of what Muhammad said did or approved in particular situations , most Muslims accept the six books of Hadith as being the most trustworthy

In the Hadith Muhammad shows how to put practices of the Quran into everyday situations

He is all powerful and in control of the universe

He is almighty and omnipotent

He is transcendent ; outside and beyond creation and outside and beyond time
He is eternal and infinite and mysterious
God is immanent ; closer to and knows all creatures than they know themselves

What is predestination and why is it important? ( tawhid)

A

Predestination is the belief that God controls our destinies

God controls our destinies as he is all powerful . Nothing will happen unless it is the will of Allah
This does not mean that humans should sit back and do nothing but that they should work with God even though God has foreknowledge of what choices that human will make he does not make it for them which allows Muslims to obtain free will

We all have a distinct soul

Because we have a conscious soul we can make moral decisions we can be held responsible for

A

Allah has full control over what happens

Life after death

Two parts to life; short time on earth and the eternal life that follows

Day of judgement ; Angels of death take souls to a state of waiting between the moment of death and the day

Final day - one day ( that Allah decides upon ) all life on Earth will come to an end and Allah will destroy everything and everyone will be raised from the dead and face judgement from Allah

submission is a Muslim practice that is led by the belief that hey should live life in complete submission to God

Muslims view submission as the purpose of life because if the tawhid

Submission to God is active and not passive

Submission is seen as a complete way of life from birth to life after death

There are three levels of submission

  • action ( imam)
  • belief (Amal)
  • awareness ( ihsan)
