all above prophets brought one message, “total surrender”.

Allah is name that encompasses all 99 names.
In Islam, what is the nature of God?
An all-knowing being that designed everything with a divine purpose.
What are the 2 major sins?
- Shirk, associating anything/anyone with God.
- Kufr, ungratefulness.
How many angels are there? What is their role?
4 archangels including Gabriel.
Each angels is assigned responsibility to every person; record every action.
What do Muslims believe about the afterlife?
Qur’an emphasized that all humans will be bodily resurrected, then assembled before God, where all deeds are accounted. Then in Final Judgment, the world will end. For the unjust and non-believers, there’s no deliverance from Hell.
How did the Sunni and Shiites form? What do they believe? Who do they recognize as their leader?

Sunnis believe that Muhammad meant for “ummah” (community) to elect Abu Bakr as leader.
* Majority in world, Recognizes Caliph.
Shiites believe Ali should have been first successor.
* Recognize Imam (leaders); combines politics and religion; interprets Shariah law for each generation

- Shahada
- Daily prayer facing Mecca.
- Fasting: frequent fast recommended; Ramadan madatory.

* Shiites are to give 1/5 of disposable income to Imam. - Hajj: pilgrimage to Ka’bah at least once in lifetime. Circle around 7 times.
