what is the importance of prophets ?
they show muslims how to look after the earth allah created for them
why is it significant all prophets are ordinary humans ?
it shows they are only special because they received allahs message
why were there so many prophets ?
each prophet bought islam in its perfect but their message was distorted or forgotten

the final unalterable word of god
why is islam the first and last religion ?
muhammad received the final message from allah

all of the prophets are considered evil
what did adam teach ?
he was given knowledge to pass on to the rest of humans
what did ibrahim teach ?
- his faith was tested which teaches that muslims should be prepared to submit to allah
- he refused to worship idols
what did musa teach ?
there is only one god
what did dawud teach ?
he wrote the holy book of zabur
why is isa important ?
he performed many miracles
why is muhammad important ?
- he was the final prophet
- he was allahs final messenger
- he formed the qur’an
what do muslims believe about jesus (isa) ?
he was not the son of god
what did ibrahim have to do ?
he was asked to sacrifice his son but was stopped by allah
what is id-ul-adha ?
the commemoration of the prophet ibrahims willingness to sacrifice his son when ordered to by allah
what happened to ibrahim ?
allah appeared to ibrahim and asked him to kill his son to show his obedience
the devil tempted ibrahim to save his son and disobey allah
ibrahim resisted temptation
just as ibrahim was going to kill his son allah stopped him
allah gave ibrahim a lamb to sacrifice instead
what does taking part in the festival show ?
that muslims are willing to sacrifice their lives to allah
how is eid celebrated ?
- sacrificing a sheep or goat - meat is shared 1/3 to the family, friends and the poor
- muslims go to the mosque to pray - they dress in there best cloths and thank allah for blessings
- there is an obligatory giving of money to charity
why is id-ul-adha significant to muslims ?
reminded of ibrahims obedience to god
it is time to consider their own obedience to allah
what do muslims ask for ?
forgiveness they are not fully devoted to allah
strength to remain devoted
what does id-ul-fitr celebrate ?
the end of ramadan
closeness to god
their sins have been forgiven
how is id-ul-fitr celebrated ?
a special meal is shared
communal celebration service is held
some give money to the poor
cards and gifts exchanged
