Is democracy always the best form of government?
Introduction: definition of democracy. Democracy stands at the heart of the values of western civilisation but it is not always the most appropriate form of government for all countries.
Positives for democracy:

Negatives for democracy:
- Some countries are too divided to be ruled democratically
Evidence: Yugoslavia - It’s arrogant to always believe that European values are superior.
Evidence: Iraq war - Democracy can be indecisive where too many parties involved:
Evidence: Italian politics - Some countries ruled undemocratically can be very effective.
Evidence: Singapore
Conclusion: As western Europeans in the 21 century we instinctively favour democracy however it may not be appropriate for all countries.
