Strong sharp peak at about 1720 cm-1 (C=O stretch)
Characteristic of Alcohol
smooth, strong resonance at around 3400 cm-
(O-H Stretch)
Characteristic of Carboxylic Acid
- Broad with peak around 3000 cm-1
(O-H Stretch) - Strong Peak from 1650 cm-1 to 1750 cm-1
(C=O Stretch)
Peaks just below 3000 cm-1

Sp2 Carbons
