IPC Study Flashcards
Privilege of IFR Rating
Authorised to pilot an aircraft…
- Under IFR
- At night under VFR
When are you authorised to conduct a circling approach?
- If you pass the flight test within the previous 12 months, and the flight test included a circling approach
- If your most recent IPC included a circling approach
- If you are operating in a check and training system which includes circling approaches
How many approaches within 90 days must you do to keep your IR?
3 approaches either in a plane or an approved simulator
How many 2D approaches within 90 days must you do to keep your IR?
1 approach either in a plane or an approved simulator
How many 3D approaches within 90 days must you do to keep your IR?
1 approach either in a plane or an approved simulator
How many Azimuth approaches within 90 days must you do to keep your IR?
1 approach either in a plane or an approved simulator
How many CDI approaches within 90 days must you do to keep your IR?
1 approach either in a plane or an approved simulator
How many flights must a pilot do to keep his single-pilot IFR and what are the conditions?
1 flight within 6 months… the flight must…
- Be 1 hour long
- Include 1 instrument approach
How long is your IR valid for after passing your Flight Test/IPC?
Valid until the end of the 12th month after the month the pilot passes his flight test/IPC
If you have conducted an IPC up to 3 months prior to the end of the original IR validity, when is your new IR valid until?
Still valid until the end of the original validity (up to the end of the 15th month after the month of when you last did your IPC)
What are the minimum navigational system requirements for an RPT/CHTR operation?
- x1 GNSS (TSO-C129 or later) and x1 ADF/VOR
- x2 GNSS (TSO-C145 or later)
- x1 multi-sensor navigation system which includes GNSS and inertial navigation
What is a QUALIFYING Aircraft in regards to determining T/O minima?
An aeroplane which is…
- Two pilot operated
- Single-pilot operated jet
- Single-pilot operated propellor aeroplane with operative auto-feather
What are the “two pilot operated” conditions in regards to a QUALIFYING Aircraft to determine the T/O minima?
Each pilot must be…
- Endorsed on type
- Multi-Crew trained on type
- Multi-Crew proficiency checked within the previous 13 months
- Instrument rated
What is the T/O minima for a QUALIFYING aircraft and what are the conditions?
Ceiling of 0ft and 550m visibility only if…
- The airport has RWY edge lighting not >60m apart + centreline lighting/markings
- The STBY switchover capability for the RWY lighting is not >1 second
- If the airport is a CTAF, the t/o must be conducted by day only and the carriage of radio is mandatory
800m visibility if the above conditions cannot be met
What is the T/O minima for a NON-QUALIFYING aircraft?
Ceiling of 300ft and 2000m visibility
