What is the charge for Hydroxide?
OH-
What is the charge for carbonate?
CO3 2-
What is the charge for nitrates?
NO3 -
What is the charge for sulfate?
SO4 2-
What is an ionic bond?
Bonds formed by the transfer of electrons from the outer shell of the metal to the outer shell of the non metal
Why do ionic compounds have a high melting and boiling point?
-They have giant ionic lattices
-They have strong electrostatic forces of attraction between oppositley charged ions in all directions
-It takes a lot of energy to overcome these forces
