Involvement in Consumer Decision Flashcards
Impulse Purchases
Buying a product or service without prior intent. Little to no planning. Decision made before a need was recognised.
Eg. snacks, fast food, magazines, and sale products.
Habitual decision-making
Minimum search for & shopping efforts, and evaluation of alternative options - before purchasing.
Eg. supermarket purchases: eggs, shampoo, soap.
Limited decision making
Looking for limited info to see options for products that aren’t frequent.
Eg. clothes, books, music, restaurant meals.
Extended decision making
High level of involvement in the purchase. Loads of information is gathered. Infrequent purchases that are = high-involvement + high-priced.
Eg. cars, homes, holidays, new technology.
