Ischaemia- haemostasis to control blood flow and contraction and retraction after the third stage to reduce the uterus size to return to its pre pregnancy size tone shape and position
Autolysis- the reduction of myometrial cells in size and the breakdown of intercellular protein
Phagocytosis- removal of excess fibrous and elastic tissue incomplete and some remains
