When would thrombolysis be used and what are the criteria in terms of the type of stroke, comorbidities and time since the stroke happened?

A
  • Must be a thrombolytic/ischaemic stroke
  • No hypertension
  • >3 hours since onset of symptoms

NB the risk of intercranial haemorrhage

Eg Endardectomy or a carotid stent
