What is a FSILO and whatvare their responsibilities
Fire Service Investigation Liaison Officer
Arranging SFI attendance at fire scenes where requested by police
Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with relevant FILO in respective police districts
Fire Scene Examinations and Investigations
Where Police command fire scene, any access by fire service is at secretion of police.
SFI will liaise with FILO or other police members to:
Hand over fire scene
Access to the fire scene
Process for examination
Identification and collection of evidence at the scene
Remember while fire occurring- fire have control.
What is Police Responsability
Conduct criminal investigation or enquiry
Undertake the responsibility for the protection and collection and recording of forensic evidence
