Types of Reports and Documents
SITREP - Situation Report INREP - Initial Report CB - Completed Bulletin FCOI - For CO's investigation IIOPA - Investigation Involving Other Policing Agency Progress Report Interim Report SPCR - Service Police Case Referral SPIS - Service Police Investigation Summary Addendum Report Additional Evidence FOE - Furtherance of Enquiry
SITREP
Situation report - Sent out
INREP
Initial Report - within 24 hours, all information known so far. PDT, complainant, suspect, injuries, property and value, golden hour
CB
Completed Bulletin - a case that is opened and then closed right away e.g. stolen bike that is unlikely to be solved
FCOI
For CO’s Investigation - something that the CO will deal with - Road traffic offences, speeding, drink driving etc
IIOPA
Investigation Involving Other Policing Agency - Someone arrested by civ pol, to send to CO
SPCR
Service Police Case Referral - when referring someone for an offence, sent to the CO. Case papers, exhibits, statements etc.
SPIS
Service Police Investigation Summary - When no offender can be identified or no service offence has been commited
PR
Progress Report - monthly update on where the SP are with the investigation, highlighting any delays
IR
Interim Report - When a long delay has occurred
AR
Addendum Report - When re-opening a case. Could be after a CB when a further line of enquiry comes up
FOE
Furtherance of Enquiry - asking someone on a different station to take a statement for you
