What is the root tip practical

1. Add 1M hydrochloric acid to a boiling tube. Just enough to cover the whole root tip. Place in a water bath and allow it to reach 60°C
2. Use a scalpel and cut 1cm from the tip
3. Place the root tip into the boiling tube and allow it to incubate for 5 mins
4. Using tweezers remove the root tip from the boiling tube and rinse it with cold water. Leave to dry
5. Place the root tip on a microscope slide and cut off 2mm from the very tip
6. Use a mounted needle to break it out and spread it very thin
7. Add a few drops of stain and leave it for a few minutes
8. Place a cover slip and press down to make it even thinner
9. Now look through the microscope
