what is the brandt line
the brandt line is a simplistic way of dividing into 2 groups of varying development - the rich north , the poop south
what are HIC`S
these are high income countries and people earn on average more than 1247c dollars per year. they have a high disposable income. The economy is industrial and depends on the service sector. these are high standards of living
what are LIC`S
these are low income countries and people earn on average lower than 1045 dollars per year. people have little or disposable income. the economy is often dependent on agriculture. These are low standards of living.
what is development
development is the change for the better. development should involve meeting the needs of people and socially, economically and environmentally and and should improve the standard of living
what is quality of life
how content people are with their standard of living e.g you can be very wealthy but miserable
water issues in HIC`S
shortage of rain, water drying up, water could not be good to drink, water can become contaminated
water issues in LIC`S
shortage of rain, water drying up , very expensive to buy,, have to go to very far distances to just collect water, dirty water could cause diseases
definition of malnutrition
lack of proper nutrition, caused by not having enough to eat, or not eating enough of the right things.

suffering or death caused by lack of food
Define obesity
The state of being grossly fat or overweight, with a high percentage of body fat. It can also be defined of having a body mass over 30 +
What is poverty
The state of being extremely poor
What is the relationship between poverty and obesity
People who are poorer tend to suffer more on obesity because they have to buy cheap food because that it what they can afforded, which is often very unhealthy
What are the main attractions in Nepal and why people visit
Because of Mount Everest there are lots of old buildings and temples which have a lot of history and culture
give an example of a country that that might have a low level of development
Dhaka in Bangladesh. People that live here struggle to earn money as jobs are not ongoing. they have to travel very far distances to get water. these people live in unhealthy conditions made of scrap, which is very likely to collapse
